If you were to score yourself as to how much you enjoy your business – out of 10 – what score would you give?

Most successful people I ask go with 7 out of 10.

It's a safe score to go for. 7 is good yes?

Business is 'successful' so they can't really go any lower. But neither can they go any higher.

I mean, 10 itself is impossible, obviously.

8 or 9 seems a bit optimistic, because, you know, there's always something.

And, of course, deep down they know that something is missing.

So they go with 7. Not bad. Middle of the road. Good enough.

Not enough pain to make a change, but not good enough to be satisfied.

Think about it. You're leaving 30% of your happiness on the table, but not prepared to do anything about it.

That is why I call it The 7/10 Trap

Imagine if you took that approach in your business and just wrote off almost a third of your profits without thinking.

You just wouldn't do it.

That is a big chunk missing in your life.

It's my belief, that that gap can be closed when you align your business with true purpose. Purpose brings a level of satisfaction that can't be achieved when all you're doing is focussing on profits and business growth.

So don't leave 30% on the table and start having a think about what is missing.

Then start doing something about it.
