Are you a shiny object hunter?
Are you the sort of person that is always buzzing and skipping with all the great messages you've just heard? You’ve bought the latest gadget or product that will help your business boom and have a head brimming with new ideas and action points.
Then you get home, go to bed and a few days later you're in exactly the same place, except you've now got a ton more work to do and you're surrounded by a load of useless crap that you wish you hadn’t bought.
Externally generated inspiration can be short-lived and is often used to manipulate us into doing something that we might not have done otherwise.
On the other hand, if you can find internal inspiration - the thing that makes you realise why you do what you do every day - then that has staying power.
Next time - take notice of what does give you a tingle, but give some thought about 'why'. What lies beneath the obvious inspiration and see what really caused it?
Is this 'new thing' going to have a fundamental impact on how you show up in the world, or does it just put a sticking plaster over a current issue?
When you focus on fundamental impact then you don't need to watch others for inspiration.
You'll inspire yourself every day.
