Why do I ask?
Well, the things that make us cry are a good hint as to what really matters to us.
Remember, Business Enjoyment comes from Purpose and Purpose comes from making a difference in a space that really matters to us.
When we're trying to piece together the clues of who we are and what our purpose is, then this is a fundamental element that ought to be considered.
What are the things that make you cry?
Both now and when you were younger, when you were really small. And I don't just mean when you banged your knee or got told off - but your reaction to the films you watched, the specific situations in school that triggered you?
Including, of course, what brings forwards tears of joy.
For my part, I managed to spot a pattern that the films that got me emotional and the situations that brought out a reaction were all around some sort of belonging.
People being accepted or being separated.
That started giving me some clues and feeders into what my makeup was, which I could then explore further and led me onto deeper and more meaningful things.
So always a good question to ask yourself, what is it that makes you cry and then start looking deeper.
