Personally, I don't like children.

There we are. I've said it.

No offence to those of you who do, but just not my thing I'm afraid.

In many people's eyes, that can make me seem a bit weird.

"Surely, our sole purpose on this planet is to produce offspring and give them the best chance in life?"

I do know that, for many people, they see that as their purpose.

However.

Children grow up. They leave home.

And whilst parents never stop caring about their children, there does come a point where priorities shift.

We hear a lot about empty nest syndrome and how it impacts on identity and motivation. The next step is then around rediscovering a new sense of purpose.

At which point - Congratulations. You're starting to catch up.

I had to find my purpose from a place other than children. And at some point you will too.

Purpose is around making a difference to someone or something other than yourself and in a space that is important to you - so it makes total sense that family fits that category.

It's just that there's more to it than that.

Start thinking now about who you are naturally drawn to help and why.

It will make it easier for you when you start thinking about what your true Purpose is.
